ITS THE END OF AN ERA S7-300

Siemens have recently announced that the SIMATIC S7-300 and ET 200M product range has started its phase out process and there will be no future developments as of 1st October 2023.

These controllers and IO systems were released back in 1996.

Since then, the S7-300 and ET 200M have been at the heart of many automation systems around the world.

But the phase out process has only just begun and because of this, S7-300 and ET 200M will continue to be available as a phase out product until October 2025.

At which point, it will become a spare part until a minimum of 2033 achieving an overall lifecycle of 37 years.

So what now?

You're best bet is to start thinking about upgrading your S7-300 systems to the latest controller platform - the S7-1500 which offers a ton of advanced features including:

✅ Comprehensive Integrated Diagnostics

✅ Integrated Security

✅ Motion Control

✅ Increased performance

✅ And many other futureproof capabilities such as AI integration
